Accounting Assistant II Accounts Payable

The Accounting Assistant II requires a self-motivated and detailed individual capable and willing to handle the volume and day to day Accounts Payable accounting requirements of Gloster with minimal supervision. The Accounting Assistant will be responsible for all Accounts Payable functions and will cross train and assist with Accounts Receivable and other Accounting functions as needed. The ideal Accounting Assistant will have a strong commitment to accuracy and enjoy finding solutions to problems. The Accounting Assistant will display ownership of all facets of Accounting Assistant II processes and assist with Gloster's monthly financial close and any analysis deemed necessary.

Essential Function/Duties:

Accurately maintain vendor accounts; including, but not limited to, certificates of insurances and W-9's

Code and review documentation for invoices, credit card statements, and other documents requiring general ledger coding

Accurately process invoices and obtain necessary approvals

Analyze and solve problems and recognize the effect on other accounts; prepare corrective documents as required

Follow all check processing procedures

Review statements to ensure timely payment

Maintain a neat and orderly filing system, ensuring information is accessible to other Accounting team members

Obtain and deliver mail and compile bank deposits

Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes

Complete monthly and/or daily reconciliations

Support and cross train on the Accounts Receivable responsibilities

Check status of Accounting supplies

Stay up to date on company processes and procedures, make suggestions as needed to management

Assist and support Accounting Manager with administrative duties


High School Diploma or Equivalent required, Associate's Degree or Equivalent Work Experience Preferred

At least 2 years of prior Accounts Payable or Accounting experience

Microsoft Office experience, Intermediate Excel experience

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Excellent time management and communication skills, both verbal and written

Ability to multitask and meet deadlines

Must be flexible and adaptable to change and work effectively in a variety of environments
